Volunteer to close the digital divide.

Tech Exchange offers popular group volunteering opportunities in which a crew of 5-10 volunteers come to our Oakland warehouse to assist in the device refurbishment process. Volunteers work with interns and staff to sort, test, clean, and prepare equipment for a new life in the hands of a community member. These “done-in-a-day” engagements are fun team-building activities that last 2-4 hours on a weekday.

We also have options for individuals interested in a deeper ongoing opportunity to train as an outreach or digital skills volunteer. Volunteers assist at events such as Affordable Connectivity Program enrollments and digital skills workshops. These events are typically on weekends, and bilingual volunteers (Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Arabic) are especially welcome. Custom volunteer opportunities such as mentoring an intern may also be offered.
