On February 13, Tech Exchange had the pleasure of welcoming six dedicated seniors from Irvington High School in Fremont to our Oakland warehouse for a day of meaningful, hands-on volunteering.
At Irvington High, all seniors complete a research project centered on a social issue they are passionate about. This group chose to explore the digital divide, a challenge that closely aligns with Tech Exchange’s mission of expanding access to technology and opportunity. Their visit gave them a firsthand look at the work being done to bridge this gap in our communities.

During their time with us, the students rolled up their sleeves and got to work, testing nearly 100 Chromebooks to determine their potential for refurbishment and reuse. Their efforts directly contributed to preparing devices that can be redistributed to individuals and families in need, helping ensure more people have access to essential digital tools.

We are incredibly grateful for the energy, curiosity, and commitment these students brought to our warehouse. Their work not only supports our mission but also reflects the power of young people taking initiative to better understand and address, real-world challenges.
