As Tech Exchange celebrates an extraordinary milestone — 30 years of advancing digital equity across the Bay Area — we are excited to launch our Connecting Communities Empowering Futures Holiday Giving Campaign.
This year, thanks to the incredible generosity of an anonymous angel donor, every contribution will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $50,000 through December 31st, 2025. That means your gift will go twice as far in helping families gain access to the tools and skills needed to thrive in today’s digital world.
A Year of Growth, Innovation, and Impact
2025 has been one of the most transformational chapters in our history.
This spring, we proudly opened our new TecHub — a vibrant community technology center that honors three decades of service while expanding access to digital learning, tech support, and connected futures for thousands more families. The TecHub represents a bold step forward in our mission to ensure no one is left offline.
Yet, the digital divide persists. In every corner of the Bay Area, families still struggle to participate in education, employment, telehealth, and essential services because they lack affordable devices, reliable broadband, or the skills to navigate technology confidently.
With your partnership, we are changing that.
Empowering People with Skills that Drive Opportunity
This year, our digital literacy programs have already supported more than 1,500 graduates — that’s more than 150 new learners each month gaining confidence in the digital world. We are on track to reach over 2,000 trained participants by 2026, equipping families, seniors, and job seekers with skills that unlock opportunity.
Our Serve2STEM Workforce Development Program is also expanding into Contra Costa County, creating new pathways into tech careers for youth and young adults. Through hands-on learning, our interns gain real-world experience in refurbishing, diagnostics, and sustainable electronics practices — preparing them to lead the future of the tech and circular economy.
A Powerful Circular Economy Model
Behind this progress is a strong sustainability operation. In the past year alone, Tech Exchange has distributed over 15,000 high-quality refurbished devices to families throughout the region. We keep technology out of landfills and put it back into the hands of people who need it most.
We are also proud to welcome six new technology donors, who now trust us to securely process and repurpose their cycled-out equipment. Their support expands our production capacity and deepens our environmental impact.
