Tech Week 2026 was a powerful reminder of how community-centered technology programs can make a real difference. With strong attendance and active participation across sessions, Tech Exchange was proud to play a key role in delivering practical, accessible digital skills to the community.

As part of this year’s program, Tech Exchange led the Cybersecurity Fundamentals workshop, a hands-on session focused on helping participants stay safe online.

During this session, attendees learned how to:

  • Protect their personal information

  • Identify phishing attempts and online scams

  • Create and manage secure passwords

  • Build safer everyday digital habits

The workshop created an interactive space where participants could ask questions, share experiences and gain confidence navigating online environments.

Meeting Community Members Where They Are

Tech Exchange’s approach during Tech Week was centered on accessibility and real-world impact. The session was designed for individuals at all skill levels, ensuring that even those with limited digital experience could follow along and benefit.

By simplifying complex topics like cybersecurity, Tech Exchange helped remove barriers that often prevent people from fully participating in today’s digital world.

Supporting a Citywide Effort for Digital Inclusion

Across multiple locations, participants engaged in workshops covering everything from smartphone basics to artificial intelligence, creating a well-rounded learning experience for the community.

Tech Exchange’s cybersecurity session complemented these offerings by addressing one of the most critical needs today: staying safe in an increasingly digital world.

Real Impact Beyond the Session

The strong turnout and engagement during the Cybersecurity Fundamentals workshop reflected a growing demand for trustworthy, easy-to-understand tech education.

More importantly, participants left with practical skills they can immediately apply, whether it’s recognizing a suspicious email, securing their accounts, or feeling more confident using the internet.

Looking Ahead

Tech Week 2026 highlighted the importance of continuing to invest in digital literacy at the community level. Tech Exchange remains committed to this mission, providing education, resources, and support that empower individuals to confidently navigate today’s technology.
