Saying Goodbye to The Oakland TecHub, and Hello to a New Chapter

Since 2018, Tech Exchange’s TecHub has stood proudly on International Boulevard in Oakland, serving as more than just a building - it has been a beacon of opportunity, connection, and digital equity.

Within these walls, thousands of students, families, and neighbors found affordable computers, access to low-cost internet, free tech support, and the chance to build real digital skills. The TecHub was a place where people could not only receive vital tools but also feel seen, supported, and empowered.

And now, after six impactful years, we are preparing to close this beloved location on May 31st.

A Legacy of Impact, Made Possible by You

At its core, the TecHub has always been about access - to technology, to knowledge, and to opportunity. It’s been a place where people of all ages and backgrounds could come, get the support they need, and leave with tools that help them move forward.

This space has reminded us why we do this work: because digital equity changes lives. Every device distributed, every question answered, every connection made has been part of something bigger - a shared belief that everyone deserves the chance to participate fully in today’s digital world.

Every memory, every milestone, and every moment of growth that happened in this space was made possible by you - our community, our donors, our partners, our volunteers, and our dedicated staff.

What’s Next? A New Space, a Bigger Vision

While we are filled with emotion saying goodbye to this special place, we’re just as filled with excitement. Why?

Because we’re relocating to a new Tech Exchange space - one that will allow us to grow, serve more people, and continue offering the services you’ve come to count on: low-cost computers, internet resources, training, multilingual tech support, and so much more.

This is not an ending - it’s a launchpad for what’s next. The mission continues, and we’re taking it even further.
