OUSD Tech Repair Interns Visit Tech Exchange for a Day of Learning and Inspiration

On Thursday, July 2, Tech Exchange had the pleasure of welcoming a group of high school interns from the OUSD Tech Repair Program to our Oakland warehouse for a hands-on, behind-the-scenes experience.
The visit was part of our shared commitment to empowering the next generation of tech leaders through exposure, mentorship, and community engagement. Interns were given a full tour of our facility, where they saw firsthand how donated devices are refurbished and prepared for distribution to families across the Bay Area.
Following the tour, the students joined our team for a lunch-and-learn session featuring a panel of Tech Exchange staff and partners. The panelists shared personal stories about their career paths, the importance of digital equity, and how teamwork and purpose drive our mission forward. The discussion offered real-world insight into the many ways technology can be used to uplift communities.
We were inspired by the interns' curiosity, thoughtful questions, and passion for tech. These students represent the future of digital inclusion—and we’re proud to have played a small part in their journey.
