This October, Tech Exchange turns 30! For three decades, Tech Exchange's mission has been advancing digital equity across the Bay Area by connecting under-resourced communities with tools, skills, and support they need to thrive in today's digital world.
What began in 1995 as a community effort to refurbish and redistribute computers, has grown into a regional movement for digital inclusion. To honor this legacy, we are proud to host our first Tech Exchange Anniversary Celebration - an evening of reflection, honoring, and purpose.
We invite our community of supporters, sponsors, partners, and friends to join us in recognizing the collective work that's brought us here - and to reaffirm our shared commitment to bridging the digital divide.
Why This Celebration Matters
While the Bay Area is globally recognized as the center of technological advancement, more than 100,000 households remain disconnected from basic digital resources. Digital access has become essential for education, employment, healthcare, and civic engagement. Over the last 30 years, with your support, we have been able to:
Distribute over 250k Refurbished Computers
Diverted 3050+ Tons of E-waste
Provided over 75k Instructional Hours
Connected over 25k individuals
Trained over 500 Interns
Open four (4) TecHub locations, offering free walk-in digital support
However, our work is far from done. Your presence at the Celebration helps us expand into more neighborhoods, scale new programs, and respond to the urgent needs of our communities.

A client-led auction featuring exclusive items, experiences, and community treasures
Early Bird Tickets Go On Sale Thursday, August 7th!
Beginning Thursday August 7th, Early Bird tickets for the Celebration will be available for purchase. We encourage you to purchase tickets early. All proceeds from the Celebration directly support Tech Exchange's mission of expanding digital access for underserved communities across the Bay Area.
