On Saturday, December 14, 2024, Tech Exchange is proud to sponsor the 12th Annual Brothers Code event, hosted by The Hidden Genius Project as part of Computer Science Education Week. This transformative event introduces young people across the nation to the fundamentals of coding and computer science, empowering them with the skills and inspiration to pursue careers in technology.
What is Brothers Code? Brothers Code is an interactive experience held in multiple cities, including Oakland, Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, and Los Angeles. The event focuses on engaging boys and young men of color in middle and high school, equipping them with the knowledge and connections to explore opportunities in the tech sector. All workshops are youth-led, ensuring a peer-driven and relatable learning environment. Parents, guardians, educators, and adult champions are also encouraged to participate, making it a truly inclusive and community-focused event. Tech Exchange's Role At the Oakland event, Tech Exchange will be on-site providing hands-on opportunities to further bridge the digital divide:
Why This Matters Tech Exchange is dedicated to fostering digital equity and inclusion. By supporting Brothers Code, we aim to ensure that all young people—especially those historically underrepresented in technology—have the tools, resources, and inspiration to succeed in a rapidly evolving digital world. We invite families, educators, and community members to join us in celebrating the power of technology to transform lives.
