Over the last 25 years Tech Exchange has installed and supported hundreds of community labs for housing partners, schools, community centers, and senior citizen centers. Technicians provide a site assessment and work with partners on optimal lab setup. Services include delivery, installation, configuration, and ongoing onsite warranty support. Tech Exchange organizes events with schools and community partners to help ensure that students and families have the tools needed to be digitally connected. Assistance with Internet Signup We assist individuals with the process of signing up for home Internet and advise on the best-value services. We support families in making initial contact with the service provider. Computer Distribution Tech Exchange will deliver and distribute computers to attendees. Attendees receive a free refurbished Windows 10 desktop computer with an array of pre-installed software, including an office suite, multimedia programs, antivirus, parental controls and one-year warranty. Tech Exchange currently provides digital inclusion services to 10 different public housing sites across the Bay Area, with varying needs. We provide support to residents across varying languages (English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, etc), ages (youths, working adults, seniors) and technology experience levels (beginner, intermediate, or advanced). We understand residents of some of these populations are vulnerable and underserved. Digital Skills Curriculum Workshops are tailored to the specific needs of residents following a due-diligence process to determine existing skills and areas of potential improvement. Workshops are easily adapted for more or less skilled technology users, as well as for seniors who may be less familiar with computers and the internet.
