Tech Exchange organizes events with schools and community partners to help ensure that students and families have the tools needed to be digitally connected. Assistance with Internet Signup We assist individuals with the process of signing up for home Internet and advise on the best valued services. We support families making the initial contact with the service provider. Computer Distribution Tech Exchange will deliver and distribute computers to attendees. Attendees receive a free refurbished Windows 10 desktop computer with an array of pre-installed software, including an office suite, multimedia programs, antivirus, parental controls and one-year warranty. Tech Exchange currently provides digital inclusion services to 10 different public housing sites across the Bay Area, with varying needs. We provide support residents across varying languages (English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, etc.), age (youth, working adults, seniors) and technology experience (beginners, or advanced). We understand residents of this population are vulnerable and underserved. Digital Skills Curriculum Workshops are tailored to the specific needs of residents following a diligence process to determine existing skills and priorities. Workshops are easily adapted for more or less skilled technology users, as well as for seniors who may be less familiar with computers and the Internet.
